Semuliki National Park
Book now

Semliki National Park lies in western Uganda near the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is particularly interesting because its lowland tropical forest has strong ecological connections with the forests of Central Africa, giving visitors an experience quite different from Uganda's savannah parks.

Best time to Visit

June–September and December–February for generally drier walking conditions. The park is particularly appealing for birders and travellers interested in unusual forest ecosystems. Heavy rain can occur year-round.

Main Attractions

  • Sempaya hot springs
  • Guided walks through the lowland tropical rainforest
  • Central African forest bird species
  • Forest primates, including chimpanzees in the wider ecosystem
  • Riverine habitats and the scenic Semuliki Valley
